The fly line must be no smaller than 1 weight less than the rod it's on.
Example: For a 6wt rod, no less than a 5wt line can be used. (This rule is to prevent euro nymphing type tactics)
The fly line must be castable through a standard fly cast.

Flies must be within reason. There must be feathers, or furr, or synthetics, using typical or even a-typical fly materials. Fly materials must be tied on the hook using thread. Thick single pieces of rubber or plastic over 1/8” thick will not be permitted on flies.
Skirt material, or even whole skirts are permitted as long as the rubber/plastic has no single pieces thicker than 1/8"
No senkos or roboworms, tube jigs, etc on hooks, or any products like these in the slightest. If you think the fly could be put in to question, it is your job to bring this up to the tournament director prior, showing the fly.
Any added weight to a fly over 1/8oz is not permitted. The fly weight in total may weigh over 1/8oz when material is added on. However if the total weight of the hook and added weight COMBINED ALONE is over 1/8oz, or 4 grams, the fly will not be permitted. If you have a fly in question, you may be asked for a sample hook/weight to put on a scale. Or the fly used may have to be cut apart to be put on a scale and weighed properly.
Flies or components cannot have any scent added.

Anglers will have roughly 8 hours from blast off to check in time. Late penalties will be 1/2lb per minute.
If any fish are deceased at weigh in, there will be a 1lb penalty for each dead bass. The dead bass' weight will still be counted.
No more than 5 fish can be kept in the livewell at any point. If anglers show up with 6 or more bass at the weigh in they will be automatically disqualified.
Culling balls must be designed with some sort of a clip. Setups that require piercing fish’s mouths will not be permitted. Link to cheap ones in button below.
Weigh in bags will be covered by the tournament. Any fish weighing 5lbs or more will legally need it’s own bag at the time of weigh in.
There will be a camera boat running around the lake with the tournament director. Boat and gear inspections may be asked upon tournament director or tournament volunteer's discretion when out on the water.
No fishing will be allowed until angler's boat number is called.
If contestants are late to the blastoff, they will have to wait until all other boats have finished taking off.
Any protests must be made within 30 minutes of when the scale closes.
Any and all contestants may be required to take a lie detector test as determined necessary by the tournament director.
DRIFT BOAT RULES
Drift boat team may consist of up to 3 people with one designated person to row, and row only. This person is considered the trolling motor. The rower cannot fish. If the drift boat has only 2 anglers, the rower is ok to fish.
Drift boats must legally have bow and stern lights for blastoff. Easy clamp on lights powered by AA batteries can be purchased for cheap on Amazon. Click the button below for the link.
Drift boats must also have a live well. A simple live well can be rigged with a designated ice chest & aerator(s). Aerator(s) must be run at all times. while fish are in the tank.
Water must be replenished to some degree every 15-20 minutes while fish are inside.
On top of the aerators, ice chest livewells must also have perfect fitting bucket/jug to take water out of ice chest and replace with fresh water quick and efficiently. If a fresh water pump is wired and includes a water outlet port, then a jug is not needed.
It is recommended DIY livewells have spare ice on board to add into livewell if need be. Especially if the weather is warm.
The tournament director will contact all drift boat captains prior to the tournament to make sure the fish care protocol is up to par.
Drift boats will blast off last for safety reasons.
This setup in the video would be the bare minimum for a livewell.
Two separate aerators are recommended.
An ice chest setup with an electric pump, inlet/outlet is ideal.
If you don't go electric pump you will want to take out water & dump fresh water in every 15-20 minutes.
